CALL OUT ‘LINE’ WHILE LISTENING TO THE GREATEST HITS OF ALL TIME!

The best music and all the fun of bingo come together in this edition of HITSTER. Enjoy some of the greatest hits of all time as you fill out your scorecard. The first to call ‘LINE!’ is the HITSTER Bingo winner!

Get started!

  • 1. SPIN

On your turn, spin the disco ball. When it stops, the light pointer will show which category you and your opponents will play. [See below for a description of each category.]

  • 2. SCAN

The DJ takes a music card from the top of the deck of the selected category (without looking at the back) and scans the QR code using the HITSTER app.

As soon as the song starts playing, press the disco ball to activate the timer (25 seconds).

  • 3. WRITE

All players write their answer in the white box on their scorecard before the red light on the disco ball flashes to show that the time is up.

  • 4. FLIP

The DJ now turns over the music card to reveal the answer. All players check what they have written. If you got it right, score 1 point by marking a cross in a box on your scorecard that matches the colour of the category.

    SET UP

    • Decide if you want to play in teams or individually.
    • Choose the difficulty level. Side A of the game board is designed for BEGINNERS, side B for EXPERTS. Place the disco ball in the centre of the board.
    • Place a deck of cards, with the QR codes facing up, on each of the five categories on the game board.
    • Share out the scorecards and markers.
    • Open the HITSTER app on your mobile.
    • Choose a player to be the DJ. They will scan the cards and can still play along with the others. Keep the same DJ for the whole game or switch players, you decide!
    • Pick a card at random from the deck to decide who starts. The one with the oldest card goes first, then play continues clockwise. Return those cards to the deck and start the game.

Note: Players acting as the DJ should not wear smartwatches (e.g. Apple Watch) during the game, as they may display song information on the screen.

    MUSIC SETTINGS

The way the songs are played depends on the streaming platform you use and the type of account you have.

If you’re playing without an account or with a free account

You’ll only hear a short clip of the song.

You can choose one of two playback options from the app’s SETTINGS menu:

    • Gyrosensor 🔄
The song starts playing when you turn your phone face down.
    • Countdown
The song starts playing after a brief 3-second countdown. Make sure you place your phone face down before the countdown ends.

If you’re playing with a paid account

In addition to the playback options above, you can also choose how you want to listen to the songs:

    • Full tracks 🎵
Listen to the whole song from the beginning. Perfect for the full experience.
    • Previews
Fast mode! Turn your phone over to start playback and listen to a short clip.

    WHO WINS?

Keep taking turns clockwise, spinning the disco ball and following the four steps above. The first player (or team) to complete a line on their card is the winner of HITSTER Bingo!

        Tips:

        • A winning line can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Each scorecard has a different colour/category arrangement. Decide on the best strategy to get a line based on your musical strengths.
        • You can assemble the teams randomly, by age, by musical tastes or however you think will be most fun. But remember, the more varied your team, the better your chances of victory!
        • In the event of a tie, the game will continue between the tied players. The first one to take the lead wins. That is the first player to have the next answer correct.
        • Remember: you can also play HITSTER BINGO with cards from other HITSTER game versions. Cards are marked with a symbol to identify the corresponding game version, so if they get mixed up when playing, each card can always be returned to its box.

Note: There is also the option to play without scanning the QR codes. If preferred, you can use any other online platform of your choice to play the music.

Important: Players playing as the DJ should not use smartwatches (e.g., Apple Watch) while playing, as they may display information about the song on the screen.
